A personal matter: you tube strikes

Last week my youtube channel was subjected to a strike authorized by ECM records. Irritating as these actions are, they conform with current law and any  protest would be futile.The legal side is clear, which I know perfectly well ... although there is a stupidity in all of it which is obvious as well.

I was not born with a passion for alternative music, but  when I discovered the joy of it I was happy to have a tool like youtube at hands as well as a couple of well-versed users who shared their preferances with me. I watched many, many youtube videos, savouring the music and also acknowledging the beauty and artistic prowess of the videos. These privately made videos are often more impressive than the authorized ones, simply because private people put a lot of thought and work into them in order to present their favourite videos.
I wouldn't know many of the groups I do without the deligence of such youtube users, nor  would I have purchased most of my alternative CDs. Most of the profit these groups made from just me, is owing to such videos as the companies are now striking against.
