Faust - Ein deutsche Volkssage

full house in Offenbach on January the 10th

One of my favourite cellists -Tobias b.deutung- participated in a project for providing the sound (piano and violincello) for Murnau's old silent film "Faust". The project started last year when b.deutung and Richard Pappik set very successfully music to Murnau's "Nosferatu". So the "Faust" project can be viewed as a kind of sequel to that.
They aspire to be theatre music rather "to play along after the film" as the traditional silent film music did.
B.Deutung himself is a great fan of Murnau's "he was a brilliant agent of expressionism in film and his imagery and metphorical language was trailblazing". Thus, B.Deutung views his current work with very charming demurity: "These films were here long before us, and they will continue long past our time."

Still, it is such an intersting project and I would have loved to see it, but was too late to purchase any cards. Also, I haven't been able to find very much in the way critics of the performance ... so if anybody reading this, was there - I'd be very grateful if you sent me a review.
