When I first read that the man is "secretive about his life" I presumed he would say "none of your business" in various degrees of courtesy to his many interviewers. Funnily enough, he rarely does anything so straightforward, but talks amiably to almost everybody about his biography. Instead, he is deviously creative about it so that you won't even realize you've been had until much later. While I find his approach rather amusing, it must be dead annoying for the journalists.

Note:
He was born and is not dead yet. He went to school and studied.  He married. He became father. He is still singing and writing songs.

Everything else is embellishment.
